How do I prepare for my Kids and Kin outdoor photoshoot?
You don't need to prepare too much. The main part is choosing how to dress your family. I recommend to try to stay to a similar colour palette for the family and try to go for clothing that is quite neutral if possible. Try to avoid any loud prints or logos as these can clash with the surroundings and the outfits of the other family members. Dress weather appropriately if possible and this includes footwear. I would advise against high heels as we will likely be walking in grass and on uneven paths during our outdoor shoot. If you would really like to wear heels I recommend bringing flats in a small bag and changing when we get to our shoot location. Similarly if it is a chilly day I recommend bringing warm coats in a sports bag that we can pull from between shots to ensure everyone stays cosy.
How do I prepare for my Kids and Kin Baby photoshoot?
I can work to your babies schedule so we will leave plenty of time for settling baby, feeds and changing. Feed baby just before the shoot so that they are sleepy, relaxed and happy. I can photograph baby in any special outfits that you would like to dress them in. I also like to get some simple shots of baby in a plain vest. This is where I get the lovely close-up shots of their leg rolls and little toes! I recommend that parents wear something neutral, I generally advise that you avoid any loud prints or colours. White, cream, blush and grey are all timeless and won't distract.
What happens if it is raining on the day of our outdoor shoot?
Ah, Irish weather! I will keep a close check on the weather forecasts in the run up to your outdoor session and I will make a call on whether we should proceed 24 hours before the shoot. The shoot can be rescheduled to another date or alternatively the shoot can be done in your home.
When should I book my Kids and Kin Baby session?
For the really peaceful sleepy newborn shots I recommend booking the photoshoot for 7-14 days after your babies due date.
Are you insured
Yes, I am fully insured.
Where in my house is best to prepare for our Kids and Kin Baby shoot?
For newborns and very young babies a bed near a window in your home is perfect. Please dress the bed in white in preparation for our shoot as this gives a good base. We can then change in different coloured blankets if needed. We can also do some seated shots of parents and baby in a seat by a window.
For older babies that can sit I will have a portable backdrop which I can set up in a sitting room or kitchen.
I can work to your surroundings and will figure out the best angles to make the most of the lighting you have in your home.
When will I receive my digital files?
You will receive your retouched high resolution files 4-6 weeks after your photoshoot.
You will then have the option to purchase any extra products through my webshop.
